For more than 40 years, COVA has been a trusted source of training and best practices for organizations and individuals who work with crime victims every day.
COVA offers many opportunities for professionals to stay current with trends and best practices in victim services, including Basic and Advanced Academies, webinars, and custom training developed to meet an agency’s needs.
COVA administers the the Colorado Advocate Certification Program, which provides the opportunity for voluntary professional certification. This program provides several types of certifications to accommodate the many circumstances of our state’s victim service providers.
COVA’s Emergency Fund team manages and disburses funds to support crime victims throughout Colorado. Funds support critical needs such as rent, groceries, relocation expenses, transportation and more.
The next generation of advocates for crime victims often comes from interns who work in professional organizations across Colorado. COVA helps to recruit, train and fund interns prepared to make an impact.
COVA organizes and assists Colorado crime survivors to share their stories in the Colorado legislature and speaking engagements. For organizations hosting training programs or gatherings where professional advocates and others convene, COVA can assist you in hosting a crime victim to reinforce the positive impact you can make on lives.
